Demons are creatures that are known for causing diseases and disgraces to human beings, they can even possess individuals or act like reagents in hell.
(obviously we do not agree with this because this is a cristian-judaic point of view)
There are many ways to classify demons in demonology's study. However, the type of demons can be classified starting by their domain, their hierarchy, related to specific things like the seven mortal sins, misfortunes, or sicknesses that they can give to people among others.
Every demon depending on its domain can do some activities and has abilities related to their power and authority among the other demons, the way they can communicate with human beings is unique for each one of them.
It is important to mention that above any type of demon Lucifer or the devil is always the major one, the most powerful, and all the classifications and type or demons are below him. A bureaucracy rules hell even as chaotic as it could be, where everyone has its place and functions to make it work.
Let’s introduce you to the most important classifications of types of demons.

A book called The Lanterne of Light written anonymously listed this type of demons, the book categorizes the demons based on the sins they represent. However, there is also a classification by Peter Binsfeld.

Many people think Lucifer and Satan are the same but they are different demons. In demonology books they put them separately; Lucifer is always outranking Satan as the true heir of hell. To the mortals, he appears as a beautiful child or man, he represents the counterpoint of one of the most known biblical characters St John the Baptist.
The prince of hell and the demon of witchcraft, he helps people with their spells and appears to them in white robes. His physical appearance is a human male face with long blonde hair that comes to his shoulders. He was an angel too and had the job to encourage men to disobey God’s orders.
He represents the sin of Wrath because of his problems with God back in heaven, and because he can be really mean when he gets mad.
Known as the lord of the flies, he orders over the legions of demons and appears to the mortals as a huge winged insect when they summon him. He represents the sin of gluttony. As Lucifer, he was an angel before coming with him having the rank of cherubim; its counterpoint is St Francis of Assisi.
He is the leader of the witches and warlocks, helping them with their magic because he pushes people into heresy to follow the king of hell Lucifer. It is said that in the hierarchy he is just below Lucifer and Satan.
He is a demon with a peculiar appearance with three heads, bull, human, and ram in a fat body, who occasionally appears over a black dragon, is extremely respected in the demon hierarchy to the point where some of them venerate him as the king of demons. He represents the sin of lust, separating marriages, offering carnal pleasures to men and women.
He is one of the fallen angels who fell in love with a human called Sarah, and every time she got married this demon killed her husbands on the first night avoiding the consummation of their love.
His name means the destroyer; he is the chief of all the demons on the seventh hierarchy. This demon possesses the magic to destroy everything in his path, that is why he is called the demon of death and destruction. This demon represents the sin of Sloth and it is said that he brought the key that opens the bottomless pit of hell.
One prince of hell that represents the deadly sin of envy; he is a demon that used to be seraphim, one of the most powerful among angels. He is the counterpoint of St. Peter.
Some other representations have him as the gatekeeper of hell and can be represented as an enormous giant sea demon that brings despair and death to mariners. He represents the man’s carnal desires, chaos, and disorder.

While the one above is the most recognizable classification of types of demons, there are many others.
One of them being the demons described by Spina, who classified the type of demons according to: the demons of fate, who were angels before becoming demons.
The ones that have sex with mortals like incubi and succubi.
Demons that make groups with other demons, making what is known as a legion.

The cambions, who are the sons and daughters of demons with mortals, they have special powers like shape-shifting.
Besides them, there are also the drudes, which are evil spirits that produce nightmares and death in their victims.
There is also another classification made by Sebastien Michaelis, where he divided them in hierarchies, the first one made up by princes and fallen angels, the second one made of demons of powers, and dominions. The third and last one made by the demon of principalities, angels, and archangels.
As you can see, there are many types of demons according to some of the most important classifications.
